Custom record types
Not every business runs on just tickets and deals. Records let you model whatever's specific to yours.

What a record type is
A record type is an entity you define, such as Buildings, Assets, Locations, or Equipment, whatever fits how you work. Each type gets its own name, icon, color, and set of fields, and every record you create under it shares that shape.
Creating a record type
From Settings → Record types, add a new type and give it fields: text, number, date, dropdown, checkbox, url, or two special kinds: a contact field (link to a person in your CRM) and a record field (link to another record, even of a different type, such as a Flat pointing back to its Building). Edit or delete a field, or the whole type, from the same page at any time.
Linking to tickets
Turn on ticket linking for a type (optionally scoped to specific teams) and agents can attach a record to a ticket directly, handy for “which unit is this complaint about” style workflows. The link shows on both the ticket and the record's own page.
Reserving a record to a contact
Use a contact field to mark a record reserved to one customer at a time: a Flat “Reserved · Jane Customer” instead of just sitting unassigned. It shows on the customer's own CRM profile too, so the connection is visible from either direction.
Turning it off
Records aren't tied to a specific plan; every plan includes them. If you don't use the module, turn it off from Settings → Preferences; nothing already created is deleted, it just disappears until switched back on.
